Bangkok (April 4, 2025) – UNEX EV announces the launch of the first intelligent mobility platform in Thailand that will cater to a large variety of electric vehicles.

The platform will cater to privately-owned vehicles as well as commercial vehicles and transport vehicles used on land, sea or in the air. UNEX EV plans to build an integrated battery swapping network in Thailand that answers to the requirements of the transport and clean energy industries.

According to Mr. Pitak Pruitthisarikorn, CEO and Co-Founder of UNEX EV B.V., UNEX EV is a revolutionary electric vehicle transportation system with an intelligent platform based on cutting-edge technology for a fully energy-efficient and responsible future.

Mr. Pitak said the company consists of a joint effort that is created from three main pillars:

1.       Asia's Advanced Supply Chains: Leveraging China and Asia's Global Manufacturing and Energy Infrastructure Networks

2.       Advanced Technology from UOTTA: Battery swapping specialist under U Power Limited (NASDAQ: UCAR) – the first and only NASDAQ-listed company in the battery swapping business.

3.       Global commitment: A platform that supports all mobility, whether on land, water or air, and from electric public transport, electric commercial vehicles, electric motorcycles to drones and electric boats.

UNEX EV is designed for specific applications, aiming to push Thailand to become a hub for smart mobility technology in Southeast Asia and the world. The next phase of UNEX EV's plan is to increase investor opportunities in the electric vehicle industry by entering the NASDAQ stock market in the next 2 years.

Although the ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) trend is driving the transportation system towards sustainability, it can be seen that the goals and the reality are still very different.

Fact is that there are still not enough charging stations while the price of batteries is still high, in addition to the imperfect recycling system. Concerns over range, battery degradation, charging times and low prices of used EVs directly impact the expansion of commercial EVs.

The Thai government is pushing the country to become a regional electric vehicle hub through the EV 3.0-3.5 policies, which can significantly stimulate the growth of the personal electric passenger car market. However, sales of commercial electric vehicles, such as public transport vehicles, pickup trucks and larger trucks, are still growing at a limited rate.

To accelerate the transition to clean energy transportation, UNEX EV's intelligent mobility platform, combined with UOTTA's advanced battery-swapping technology, will revolutionize the EV ecosystem by increasing convenience, reducing charging times, and improving the efficiency of EV adoption in business and industry, which will help accelerate the adoption and widespread use of commercial EVs.

“The UNEX EV intelligent mobility platform will help monitor battery health (State of Health - SOH) to effectively extend its service life. It also helps operators to monitor and manage energy usage in real-time, effectively controlling business and travel costs,” Mr. Pitak said. “The battery swapping time will be reduced to only three minutes, allowing drivers to continue their journey immediately. It also reduces the load on the electricity grid and enables efficient network expansion without having to invest in additional electrical infrastructure.”

Mr. Pitak continued that initially, UNEX EV has signed cooperation agreements with various partners to strengthen the ecosystem and expand services, for example:

Automotive manufacturers (OEMs): by developing electric vehicle technology in collaboration with MG Sales (Thailand) Co. Ltd. to support the intelligent driving platform and battery swapping system, with the first two models ready for sale: UNEX EV: MG EP (5-seater Estate) and UNEX EV: MG MAXUS 7 (7-seater MPV).

Battery Swapping Stations: To expand the battery swapping service network by collaborating with Susco petrol stations in growing the battery swapping station network in the future.

Financial institutions: With financial support to help consumers access electric vehicles more easily for MG EP customers, customers can choose to start paying installments from only 550 Baht/day and choice of 0% down payment.

In order to be a part of the EV ecosystem and enhance the potential of the future transportation industry within the next three years, UNEX EV and its partners will invest over 12 billion Baht to expand the intelligent network and fuel the growth of the electric vehicle market in Thailand, according to Pitak.

“We are pleased to partner with various agencies and sectors and are open to cooperation with agencies and businesses interested in jointly expanding the network and developing the clean energy ecosystem. " he said.
